EC CAPD convenes meeting to discusses petrol crisis at Nubra

LEH, June 20: Executive Councilor (EC), Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD), Abbas Abidi, today convened a meeting, and discussed various issues related to petrol in Nubra including its shortage, closure of petrol pump since a week, leakage complain, problem with storekeepers in terms of commission and losses and demand for additional petrol pump.
EC Health, Dr Sonam Angchok, urged the Depot Manager to take up the case with their higher official and get the supply of petrol as soon as possible.
SDM Nubra, Desh Raj Bhagat, put forth certain issues including rationalization of storekeepers, Government employees staying unofficially in Government quarters and taking HRA, problem in High School Diskit related to teaching staffs, besides various other issues.
Abidi assured him full support and gave him a free hand to put the storekeepers on duty at petrol pump and in other departments, vis-à-vis to take strict action against unscrupulous employees.
Inspector CAPD Nubra, Diskit, requested Abidi and Dr Angchok to provide fuel for the tour purpose by department and to form a committee to look into all these matters related to Nubra.
While speaking, Abidi urged to find a way out to make the petrol pump of Diskit Nubra functional in an efficient manner unless it gets privatized. He assured to take up the issues in next council meeting and decided to send a team along with the next petrol tanker to Nubra to scrutinize the petrol issue.
Among others present were Councilor Tiger, Rigzin Wangdus, Councilor Turtuk Abdu Ali, AD CAPD Sherab Gyaltsan, and Manager, Leh Depot, Indian Oil Corporation Rakesh.
