JAMMU, June 30: Under the BJP’s mass outreach programme “Vikas Tirth Yatra”, Former Minister, Sat Sharma (CA) along with several party leaders and local residents of Akhnoor-Chowki Chora area made an extensive tour and visited the Sungal Tunnel Project on NH-144 where the works for the construction is in full swing.
Pertinent to mention, the tunnel starts from Chowki Chora and the tube will exit at Bhambla (Kharoti Jagir).
Terming it as a historic moment in the developmental scenario of Jammu, Sharma said that this project will turn out to be a boon for the masses. Sharma was also accompanied by BJP leader, KL Sharma Employee Cell convenor, BDC Chairman, Rahul Sharma, Project Manager, Sanjay Dhiman and several others including Project Team of CS Constructions Pvt. Ltd, Sarpanchs and Panchs of the area.
Speaking on the occasion, Sat Sharma said that commuters especially those travelling from Jammu and other areas to far flung areas of Sunderbani, Rajouri and Poonch will get highly benefited with the infrastructure on the pattern of Chenani-Nashri tunnel.  He said that with the cost of Rupees 476 crores, the tunnel will reduce the distance between Chowki Chora to Sunderbani by many kilometres, adding, that this will save both time and distance and will prove to be very beneficial for the masses especially commuters, traders, security forces personnel and others.
Sharma also stated that all this development in every nook and corner of Jammu and Kashmir is due to the efforts of PM Narendra Modi who is concerned about the well being of Jammu and Kashmir and always prioritizes its work for the betterment of the UT. Sham Lal Sharma, Naib Tehsildar, BD Sharma former Director Agriculture, Baldev Bral, Sarpanch, Romesh Sharma, Ex Sarpanch, Dr Sanchit Sharma BJYM Mandal president, Neena Devi, Sarpanch Chora, Ravi Sharma, Sarpanch, Ashok Kumar, Naib Sarpanch, Payal Devi Panch, Shankar Dass Panch, Ritu Devi Panch, Sunil Kumar, Keshav Sharma, Padam Dev, Sat Paul Sharma, Romesh Chander and many others also accompanied the Former Minister during his visit in the area.
