Police seizes 500 wooden logs

REASI, June 30: In its efforts to tighten noose around timber smugglers, Police seized 500 wooden logs from Sildhar area under the jurisdiction of Mahore Police Station.
The wooden logs were seized from various houses where these were kept illegally after smuggling from forest area.
Police said that an information was received at Police Station Mahore that some people have illegally kept wooden sleepers at their houses in Sildhar. Acting on the information, PSI Jasbir Singh, Incharge Police Post Shajroo alongwith police party under the supervision of SHO Mahore Inspector Karnail Singh, raided these houses situated at Sildhar and seized around 500 wooden logs of various size from the houses of 15 persons.
60 wooden logs were recovered from the house of Abdul Ahad son of Abdul Satar ; 84 from the house of Ghulam Rasool son of Abdul Satar; six from Basharat Ahmed son of Jamal Din, 11 from Mohd Farooq son of Umkalla; 77 from Ghulama son of Jamal Din; 26 from Mohd Shafi, son of Habloo; 85 from Mohd Farooq son of Sanaullah; 14 from Abdul Rashid son of Gh Mohd; 12 from Mendia son of Nagar; 24 from Abdul Majid son of Gh Mohd; 31 from Ghulam Rasool son of Samdoo; 18 from Mohd Shafi son of Billu; eight from Manjoor Ahmed son of Ab Rashid; 80 from Ahmadu, son of Ghulam Ali and 35 from Irfan son of Samdoo.
According to Police, the wooden logs were handed over to Forest officials for further course of action.
