JAMMU, July 3: NHPC Limited, in line with its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Universal Health Foundation.
A statement said that the signing took place at the NHPC Corporate Office, with the Group Deputy General Manager (HR), CSR & SD, NHPC, and Dr Sheetal Gupta, Director of the Universal Health Foundation, putting pen to paper.
The Executive Director (CSR & SD), NHPC, and all officers from the CSR&SD Division and the Universal Health Foundation, were also present on the occasion.
The statement further said that the MoU aims to facilitate NHPC’s support in providing essential infrastructure facilities to the Universal Health Foundation to establish Gramin Gyan Jyoti Kendras in nine villages of Jodhpur district and one village in Nagore district, in Rajasthan.
The Gramin Gyan Jyoti Kendras are designed as reading room cum online coaching centers, offering an exemplary model for learning centers in rural areas. These centers primarily cater to underprivileged students from educationally disadvantaged villages.
The centers will grant them access to modern learning tools while providing a safe and serene environment.
Additionally, the centers will offer coaching for higher education and competitive examinations.
