JAMMU, July 3: Crime Branch Jammu has booked Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma, Principal and Dean, Government Medical College and Associated Hospitals, Jammu for forging her date of birth (DOB) to get wrongful gains.
Acting on a written complaint lodged by a person namely Manu Gupta son of late Dewan Tilak Raj Gupta, resident of Flat Number 1-B, Rahat villa, Sector I-A, Channi Himmat (Jammu), that Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma has tampered her age documents to get undue advantage for getting admission in MBBS course at GMC Jammu as she was under age for MBBS admission as per Medical Council of India rules, an enquiry was initiated by Crime Branch Jammu.
During enquiry, it came to fore that Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma is having two date of births i.e. 08-04-1964 and 08-04-1965, and she has cheated the Government by forging/tampering her DOB. Enquiry further revealed that while applying for MBBS course, she had submitted her matriculation diploma mentioning therein her DOB as 08-04-1964 and got admitted for MBBS course in the year 1981.
It further came to fore that she had applied for correction of her DOB from 08-04-1965 to 08-04-0964 and J&K Board of School Education had issued the order for making the requisite correction in her DOB and accordingly, she became eligible to fill up MBBS selection form but later on she again switched over to her long run advantageous DOB.
It further transpired that she was well aware about her DOB but she intentionally and deliberately claimed her DOB as 08-04-1965 at the time of getting appointed as Assistant Surgeon in 1988 and as per her service records for illegal gains. Besides this, she also tampered her DOB on PAN Card as per her choice and while preparing her Aadhaar Card, she used her DOB as 08-04-1964 instead of 08-04-1965.
Accordingly, a case FIR Number 0057 dated 01-07-2023 has been registered against Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma (Principal and Dean, GMC&AH Jammu) in Police Station EOW Crime Branch Jammu and further investigation initiated.
“Dr Shashi Sudhan Sharma is performing her Government service on basis of forged/fabricated DOB. She with the connivance of the then officers/officials of JKBOSE committed the offence of forgery and used forged document as genuine, thereby causing wrongful gain to herself and corresponding wrongful loss to the State exchequer,” read the contents of the FIR.
