Thief held with stolen gold

POONCH, July 5: The police arrested a thief and recovered some stolen goods from his possession in district Poonch today.
Official sources said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Poonch by one person namely, Inderjit Singh, son of Gurbachan Singh, resident of Ward 10, Poonch City, mentioning that he owns a jewellery shop in main market Poonch. On July 4 in the morning when he came to his shop, he found some gold stolen from his shop. In this connection a case FIR No. 89/2023 U/S 379 IPC was registered and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation it came to fore that one employee of Jewellery Shop namely, Kinkar Jana, son of Parshanto Jana, resident of West Bengal stole the gold and was absconding after the commission of the crime.
With the help of some technical and human inputs the accused was identified and a manhunt was launched to apprehend him. After hectic efforts, the accused has been arrested who disclosed his identity as Kinkar Jana, son of Parshanto Jana. The stolen gold weighing 30 gms has been recovered from his possession. The arrest and recovery has been made by Inspector Javaid Manhas SHO Poonch under the close supervision of DySP Hqrs Afrat Hussain.
