Kathua police seizes 11 grams of heroin

KATHUA, July 6: Continuing its drive on drugs and putting concrete efforts to eradicate the menace, District Police Kathua has seized 11.49 grams of Heroin (Chitta) like narcotics at Chhan Morian – Panrthal link road area in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Hiranagar and one person was arrested in this connection.
Police said a team led by Inspector, Amit Kumar Sangra SHO PS Hiranagar under the supervision of SDPO Border, Dheeraj Singh Katoch laid down a routine naka/checking at Link Road, Chhan Morian to Panrthal area.
During the naka checking they apprehended one person namely Anil Kumar Sharma alias Raghu son of Dhani Ram of Chann Morian who is doing the illegal trade of selling narcotics like contraband substance.
On physical search, approximately 11.49 grams of heroin (Chitta) like narcotics was recovered/seized which he had kept in his illegal possession and selling same to the youth of area in order to get wrongful gain. All the recovered heroin was seized and one person was arrested on the spot.
A case FIR No. 102/2023 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act stands registered at PS Hiranagar and further investigation is under process.
District Police Kathua seeks support from the local people of the area to share information about drug peddling at the concerned Police Station and the identity of the people giving information will be kept confidential.
