Gandhi Nagar Police seizes 200 modified bikes in 4 months

JAMMU, July 7: Gandhi Nagar Police here claimed today that they have seized 200 modified bikes in the past four months. The seizures were made as part of an ongoing drive against rash driving and violation of motor vehicle offences.
“The modified silencers of bike create great nuisance in the society. They also cause tremendous pollution in the area, thus disturbing the general public. In order to check these violations of the law, we have seized more than 200 modified bikes in the last four months,” a Police officer said.
Apart from modified silencers, the vehicles have also been challaned for hiding of number plates, no high security number plates, and other offences, said the police officer.
The drive to check the violation of motor vehicle offences is being carried out under the overall supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid while as the seizures and recoveries were made by teams of Gandhi Nagar Police led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma, and other officers.
