Samba police arrests 7 thieves

SAMBA, July 7: Samba district police has apprehended seven persons involved in thefts, timber smuggling and vagrancy in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Ramgarh, PS, Vijaypur, PS, Samba and PS, Bari Brahmana in the district.
The thieves against whom non-bailable warrants were issued by the various courts and were apprehended by police party of PS Ramgarh and PS, Vijaypur have been identified as Sukhvinder Singh alias Happy son of Satpal Singh of Koulpur, Ramgarh and Rakesh Kumar son of Gian Chand of Tamore, Vijaypur, whereas timber smugglers apprehended by police party of PS, Samba have been identified as Krishan Lal son of Daya Ram of Ketera Samba and Beer Mohammad son of Gani Mohd of Chanoori.
Moreover, three vagrants apprehended by police party of Police Station, Bari Brahmana near Sarore have been identified as Mohd Sadiq son of Mohd Shafi of Manohar Gopala Samba, Abdul Kareem son of Mohd Shafi and Altaf Din son of Nazir Mohd all of Manohar Gopala Samba.
The arrests were made under the guidance of SSP Samba Benam Tosh.
Among the seven apprehended persons, accused Rakesh Kumar of Tamore Vijaypur was such a notorious thief that as many as five non-bailable warrants were issued by different courts of Jammu against him and Jammu & Samba police were conducting series of raids to arrest him but he was evading arrest. Finally, he was arrested by Samba police after hectic efforts.
The seven persons were apprehended by four police teams headed by SHO Police Station, Ramgarh, Sudesh Kumar, SHO Police Station, Vijaypur, Tribhawan Khajuria, SHO Police Station, Samba, Rajeshwar Singh and SHO Police Station Bari Brahmana Sunil Sharma under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar, DySP Garu Ram, SDPO Bari Brahmana Rahul Nagar.
