JAMMU, July 7: Mission Statehood Jammu Kashmir (MSJK) workers here today staged a protest demonstration against the rising prices of essential commodities like tomato, edibles etc.
The protest was led by MSJK president, Sunil Dimple who alleged that the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs of J&K was hand in glove with hoarders and demanded that the government should immediately raid the hoarders.
He alleged this was all due to ignorance of the BJP government due to which morale of hoarders has up and they have stocked tomatoes.
Dimple demanded roll back of 5 per cent GST hike on edibles as the prices of items of daily need has gone beyond the reach of common man.
He said that installation of recharge smart meters, heavy electricity bills, terror of taxes etc after the abrogation of Article 370 has increased miseries of common people and traders of J&K.
