Chouhan sworn in as MP CM for third consecutive term

BHOPAL : Bharatiya Janata Party Legislature Party leader Shivraj Singh Chouhan, who spearhead the BJP’s spectacular return to power in Madhya Pradesh, took oath as the State’s Chief Minister for the third consecutive term today.
Governor Ram Naresh Yadav administered the oath of office and secrecy to Mr Chouhan at a grand ceremony organised at Jamboree Ground here in the presence of a large number of party supporters.
Mr Chouhan was the only person who took oath today. His Council of Ministers would be sworn in on a later date.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi, party President Rajnath Singh, senior party leader L K Advani and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Sushma Swaraj.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Raman Singh, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Goa Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar and Shiv Sena supremo Uddhav Thackeray were also present on the occasion.
The ceremony was also attended by BJP leaders Venkaiah Naidu, Rajiv Pratap Rudy, Uma Bharti, Prabhat Jha, Ananth Kumar, Shahnawaz Hussain and Narendra Singh Tomar.
Several prominent personalities from sports arena and industry were present at the ceremony. They include industrialists Anil Ambani, Dheeraj Saluja, Sunny Gaud and Subhash Chandra. (AGENCIES)
