UDHAMPUR, July 8: Police today rescued six bovine animals, which were being smuggled in a Mahindra load carrier at Birnoo, Rassain near Ramnagar.
According to the reports, a police party of Police Station Ramnagar, headed by SHO Ramnagar Inspector Sohan Singh intercepted a Mahindra load carrier bearing registration number JK14F-7456, which was coming from Rassain towards Udhampur.
On being stopped, driver fled away leaving behind his vehicle about 100 meters away from the police party. During the checking, Police found loaded six bovine animals packed in vehicle in very cruel manners.
Police rescued the animals and seized the vehicles. A case FIR has been registered in this connection at Police Station Ramnagar.
