JAMMU, July 9: Former General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Jammu, Gaurav Gupta, has lauded the proactive approach of the Lieutenant Governor in the allocation of land to economically disadvantaged individuals under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) scheme.
In a statement, Gupta emphasized the long-standing neglect by previous Governments in addressing the housing needs of underprivileged citizens.
He expressed his disappointment that it took considerable time for this issue to be effectively tackled, and he criticized the lack of action by past administrations.
Taking a strong stance against opposition parties opposing the Government’s decision, Gaurav Gupta called upon them to prioritize the identification of landless individuals.
He believed that the right to a place to call home is inherent to every citizen and should not be overshadowed by political differences. Gupta underscored the importance of providing basic necessities to the most vulnerable members of society, emphasizing that such requirements should not be subject to dirty politics.
Gupta urged the public and relevant authorities to collaborate in identifying eligible beneficiaries and ensuring the successful implementation of the initiative.
He expressed his optimism that this endeavour would bring about positive changes in the lives of numerous families, empowering them to construct a brighter and more secure future.
