JAMMU, July 10: J&K unit of Shiv Sena (UBT) and Sainik Samaj Party (SSP) here today demanded 24×7 Jammu Doordarshan Channel.
In a joint handout Manish Sahni, president Shiv Sena UBT and Col. S.S Pathania, president SSP expressed anguish and concern over the denial of 24×7 Channel to the people of Jammu region for the last 75 years.
They said that despite construction of the building, employees’ accommodation, purchase of expensive equipments, cameras and engagement of staff which involved crores of rupees, Jammu Doordarshan Kendra is not still functional which is a deep rooted conspiracy to hit Dogra culture.
The Shiv Sena leader said that a functional Jammu Doordarshan Channel will provide employment to thousands of local artists.
He also said that this is a part of discrimination with Jammu division which has been going on for decades and continues even after the formation of Union Territory of J&K.
