MENDHAR, Dec 14: People of Ghani Lower Panchayat today protested against the shortage of teachers in Government Middle School Kohti in Mankote Zone of Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district and Primary School of Harinar.
They said the two schools having the role of 100 and 70 students respectively are functioning with single teacher.
The protestors said that there is no infrastructure available in the Schools and students have no matting neither there are facilities for mid day meal.
Later a delegation led by Sarpanch called on Javed Rana Deputy Chairman Legislative Council who took the issue of ZEO Mankote and asked him to cancel all the attachment orders of teachers working in zonal office and post them in schools especially on LoC to save the future of students from being ruined.
Another demonstration was held by people in Naka Manjri in protest against the delay in construction of Harni to Nar more which has not been constructed for last over 30 years. The people alleged that the concerned contractors have abandoned the work on bridge and culvert.
