POONCH, July 11: Alleging nepotism and favouritism in the transfer list of teachers just released in Poonch, a deputation of many teachers met the Deputy Commissioner Poonch today along with DDC Chairperson Tazeem Akhter and urged him to quash bias list.
Reports said that a list of transfers and postings of 225 teachers from different zones in Poonch was issued by Chief Education Officer Poonch under ATD Policy framed by the Administrative Department but many teachers alleged that as per new policy the norms were not followed and favouritism was done while transfering many teachers setting side the norms laid down in the policy.
Ajit Kour, posted as teacher in GMS Sawjian and many other teachers said that they are serving in hard zone from last 8 to 10 years. Their names were kept on the top in shortlist but were shocked to witness that the names were nowhere in the final transfer list. Many of them are already working in hard zones and have been transferred to hard zone again, while on the other side, many other teachers who are in the relation of officers or they are in their favourite list, have been transferred within the city or hardly around that.
They also alleged that department had already violated the norms as many far flung areas are kept ahead of towns and the places coming before those in term of numbering the zone, and the transfers of teachers have been done on that which itself proves that it is not the genuine process. Zone-wise guidelines have already been fixed by the Administrative department but the CEOs/officers at the helm of affairs are not following the same.
“We met Deputy Commissioner Poonch Yasin M Chodhary through DDC Chairperson Poonch and urged him to quash this list and keep the process of transfers and postings genuine, shift teachers from hard zone to soft zones and transfer those who are already there in the city or around it. The e DC assured to take up the matter with concerned authorities and do the needful in this regard, they added.
Pertinent to mention that Education department has started the process for transfers of teachers through ATD policy since long but the process has not be completed yet, while department has decided to take up it in phased manner, list of phase first in Poonch was issued on July 10.
