JAMMU, July 11: A police cop deployed on Shri Amarnathji Yatra died in a road accident here today, police said.
They said a scooty driven by Head Constable Wali Mohammad (49) son of Noor Hussain of Bari Khad, Bari Brahamana, who was presently posted at DPL Jammu and was deployed on Shri Amarnathji Yatra duty, was hit by a truck at Greater Kailash, Jammu around 6:45 am today, resulting in serious injuries to the police cop.
He was shifted to Government Medical College Jammu where he was declared as dead on arrival by the team of doctors.
A case FIR number 86/2023 Under Sections 279 and 304(a) of the IPC has been registered at Gangyal Police Station and further investigation taken up.
