JAMMU, July 12: Deputy Mayor of Jammu Baldev Singh Billawaria hoisted flag at Vishwa Yog Sansthaan (World Yog Institute), Hari Ki Pauri, Bagh-e-Bahu, here today.
The flag hoisting ceremony marked the beginning of the recently opened Senior Citizen Care Centre, which aims to provide a nurturing environment for the elderly. The event was organized with the support of Narayana Hospitals and the Ministry of AYUSH, in collaboration with various organizations and individuals.
The chief guest for the occasion was Baldev Singh Billawaria. The event was also graced by several dignitaries along with Yog Guru Karan, chairman of Vishwa Yog Sansthaan Sham Lal Basson (Corporator of Ward Number 48, Bahu Fort), I D Soni (president, Home for the Aged & Infirm, Ambphalla) and K K Arora (Head, Senior Citizen Care Centre).
One of the highlights of the event was the Green Jammu Movement, which commenced at Vishwa Yog Sansthaan and is set to spread across Jammu and Kashmir in a massive way. This movement aims to promote environmental awareness, sustainability, and green practices among the local population.
To ensure the well-being of senior citizens, Narayana Hospitals and the Ministry of AYUSH have pledged to conduct monthly camps at the Senior Citizen Care Centre. These camps will focus on various aspects of senior care, including health check-ups, awareness programs, and interactive sessions to address the needs and concerns of the elderly.
The flag hoisting ceremony was also graced by various guests including Sushil Sharma (chairman, Divyang Kalyan Sangh), Umesh Sharma (chairman, Disabled Care Foundation), Roshan Bhan (chief organizer, Confederation of Physically Challenged Organizations), Veena Bakshi (Manager, Shelter Home for Urban Homeless), Pritam Sharma (Manager, SOS Home for Mentally Retarded Children), RC Vaid (executive member), Vinod Kumar (executive member), Bansi Lal Gupta), Rajesh Padha, Rajan Gupta, Vikas Chopra, Ved Khullar, Suresh Sharma and Raj Hans.
Medical team of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Narayana Hospital Jammu and officials from Department of AYUSH Jammu were also present on the occasion.
