JAMMU, July 13: A Central Reserved Police Force (CRPF) jawan was booked on charges of rape here at Bishnah Area of the town today.
CRPF constable Rahul Sarvria of Rakwallan Road, Domana, Jammu, who is presently posted in Jharkhand, has been booked in case FIR number 165/2023 under Sections 376,420, and 34 of the IPC registered at Police Station Domana, a police official said.
“The accused had been committing rape with the victim for the past over 5 years on the pretext of marriage,” he said, adding, when he turned down the offer of marriage, the victim, a resident of Chakda, Bishnah, lodged a written complaint with Police Station Bishnah.
“Acting on the complaint of the victim, we have registered a case against the accused and started further investigation,” the police officer said.
