POONCH, July 14: People have decided to start sit-in protest against opening of wine shop at Potha Bypass in Surankote area of Poonch district.
Reports said after offering Friday prayers many elected representatives, political, religious, social leaders, youth and general public held meeting and unanimously decides to start `sit-in protest’ at Bus Stand Surankote every day from 10 AM to 2 PM till the Government not closes the wine shop at Potha.
DDC Member Surankote-A, Shahnawaz Choudhary and other people expressed serious concern and said that whole Surankote stood up against the opening of this wine shop, staged protest as well but Government is still unmoved which is very unfortunate.
“We warn Government to close wine shop at the earliest, otherwise people here will sit on dharna every day, till Government takes back its decision, We will extend this sit-in protest from 4 hours to 24 hours and go on hunger strike for further course of action”, they added.
