160 students examined in free dental camp

JAMMU, Dec 15: The administration of Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla Jammu today launched awareness-cum-dental check up camps for the school children on fortnightly basis.
Initially these camps shall be organized in the schools of Jammu city and later this facility shall be extended to the rural areas also. First camp of the series was organized at Universal Academy, Rehari Colony.
A team of dental surgeons from Swami Vivekananda Medical Mission Charitable Hospital, Ambphalla comprising Dr Rohin Gupta, Incharge Dental Section, Dr Ajit Paul Singh, Dr Chahat Puri, Dr Sanchit Kumar, Dr Karun Gupta and Dr Ankita Gupta examined more than 160 students and provided them expert free consultations.
Dr Rohin Gupta delivered a lecture on awareness of dental hygiene and how to prevent common dental disorders and how to brush and clean the teeth daily.
Jagdish Chander, Principal of the school appreciated the initiative taken by the hospital.
In a statement, Dr T. R. Raina, Administrator of the hospital said that the “hospital is providing the services in Gynecology and Obsetratics, General Medicine, General Surgery, Laproscopic Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT, Ophthalmology, Pedatrics, Sport Medicine, Physiotherapy, Digital XRay, Ultrasonography, ECG and Laboratory and the rates charged by the hospital are very nominal and are almost 50 percent less than the prevailing market rates.
