JAMMU, July 17: The activists of Democratic Progressive Azad Party (DPAP), today held a protest against the JKPDCL/PDD authorities and JKUT Administration for introducing prepaid electricity bills system and putting extra burden on the public.
The District Committee of DPAP Jammu (Urban) under the leadership of Gourav Chopra, president, assembled at PDD office, Parade Chowk, Jammu today and held strong protest against JKPDCL (PDD) against pre-paid system for electricity bills, giving sleepless nights to Jammu consumers.
The people from various wards joined DPAP protest. The protesters were with banners like Pre-paid System bandh karo, Bijli ke bill Kam karo, PDD Hai Hai, UT Govt Hai Hai.
Speaking on the occasion, Gourav Chopra, raised questions on the JKPDCL for starting of Pre-paid electricity bills system and disconnecting connections of people in this scorching heat. The consumers, who are paying their bills in time….JKPDCL is forcing them to adopt pre-paid system. He said that PDD is harassing the people of JK UT. No one is ready to listen the grievances of Jammu people.
Anil Kohli, vice president Jammu urban also spoke over the irrational bills issued by the JKPDCL/PDD. He said that UT Government is not trying to understand the hardships faced by people.
Later the protesters handover a memorandum to Executive Engineer, Division-1, for the LG to revoke the order regarding pre-paid system.
Senior leaders Yassen Khan, Anil Nargotra, Jodh Singh, Parkash Chand Digra, Rajgopal Sharma, Rajesh Gupta, Manik Sharma, Nadeem Choudhary and others also joined .
