REASI, Dec 16: A joint team of the Department of Legal Metrology led by Deputy Controller Taxi Meter Jammu M.A Mughal and the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology, Reasi Kuldeep Raj conducted checking of autorickshas at Katra.
During inspection 11 autoricksha drivers were booked under various provisions of the J&K Weights and Measures (Enforcement) Act and Rules and a composition of Rs 5600 was imposed and recovered from the defaulters.
The team also seized one vehicle of M/s JAKFED Gas Agency at Katra which was supplying LPG cylinder to the consumers at exorbitant rates. The driver of the vehicle and the sales man were booked by the Inspector Legal Metrology Reasi for overcharging. A case was compounded by the Assistant Controller Legal Metrology Reasi against them for Rs. 10,000 and the composition amount was recovered from the defaulters.
