RAJOURI, Dec 16: A young lecturer was crushed to death after his bike was hit by a bus in Manjakot area on Rajouri-Poonch road this afternoon.
The mishap took place when 30-year old Dil Pazeer, son of Noor Hussain, resident of Thanda Pani (Kakora) in Manjakote area was on way to his home from Dudasan Balla on his motor-cycle. He had gone to meet his relatives there. The youth had been posted as Lecturer (English) in a Higher Secondary School at Kargil and was on vacations now. Near his village, he was hit by a Poonch bound Video bus No. JK02AG/8537 and fell down. He was crushed to death on the spot. The driver of the bus, Tilak Raj. Resident of Bhamla managed to escape from the spot.
The police seized the bus and registered a case in this connection. It shifted the dead body to Manjakot for postmortem and started search for the absconding driver.
