JAMMU, July 18: The lift at Govt Medical College Rajouri is non- functional since its establishment despite the fact that patients are suffering badly.
Not only GMC Administration, even the District Administration Rajouri is also well aware of the issue of serious concern but they all have remained unmoved so far. Such patients who arrive there is serious condition are forced to go through stairs, although lift at GMC Rajouri was properly installed long ago and cleared by its Mechanical wing.
Even some very weak patients who come here for dialysis have to walk on foot as the patients have been deprived of this much needed service at any hospital. The GMC administration has remained insensitive to this important issue due to the reason best known to the people at the helm of affairs. Those people whose surgeries are done in hospital or who are handicapped, are worst sufferers and the attendants can be seen carrying patients on stature or their back.
“When everything has been installed properly then what forced GMC administration to close the lift in the hospital. And is it is out of order what they are not getting it repaired,” an attendant of the patient at GMC said.
The prominent people from Rajouri town have appealed the District Administration, Rajouri to direct GMC Administration to make the lift in Hospital functional so that patients do not suffer any more.
