UDHAMPUR, July 21: Shiv Sena (UBT) Jammu and Kashmir Unit today expressed serious concern over rising unemployment, crime, and drug abuse in the Union Territory.
The party demanded that the Modi Government introduce a job creation policy and provide unemployment allowance to educated unemployed youth in Jammu and Kashmir.
Chairing a meeting of the party workers to discuss the strategy for upcoming ULB polls, Manish Sahni, President Shiv Sena (UBT) J&K, emphasized that the surge in drug abuse and crime is linked to the alarming rate of unemployment, attributing these issues to the failed policies of the central government.
He criticized the Saffron Party’s commitment to development, employment, and peace, stating that they have proven to be hollow promises.
“The lack of employment opportunities has left the youth frustrated, leading to drug addiction and criminal activities,” he said.
Sahni urged the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir and the Central Government to provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 3,000 to Rs 5,000 per month to educated unemployed youth in the region.
He also demanded the immediate filling of vacant positions in various departments and the formulation of a job creation policy.
The Party vowed to continue advocating against rising unemployment, drug abuse, and crime, with a focus on securing a better future for the youth of Jammu and Kashmir.
Other attendees at the meeting included Gen Secretary Vikas Bakshi, Vice President Sanjeev Kohli, Jatinder Arora, Prabhari Ashwani Prabhakar, President District Udhampur Sanjeev Sharma, Anil Vijay, Gopal Dogra, Joginder Verma, Madan Sharma, and DC Sharma among others.
