JAMMU, July 23: People of Janipur area here today staged a protest demonstration and took out a protest march at High Court road demanding restoration of pension for widows, old age and physically challenged people.
The protest was led by Rani Devi, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Councillor of Ward number 34 and the protesters were raising slogans in favour of their demands which also included withdrawal of Property Tax.
The protesters also expressed resentment against installation of Smart and Pre-Paid Power Meters in Jammu.
They urged upon the Lieutenant Governor of J&K, Manoj Sinha to look into the issues at the earliest so that the people may heave a sigh of relief.
