NGO organizes awareness programme

JAMMU, July 23: Founder chairperson of NGO ‘Support’, Dr. Navneet Kour and Vinod Kumar, chairman PoJK Displaced People Front jointly conducted career a counseling and awareness programme at village Flora in R.S Pura.
Motive of the programme was to motivate the youth of border villages to pursue their education through NIOS, participate in sports, have inter-village sports events and adopt a healthy lifestyle.
Different skill projects were introduced to the youth and counseling was done by Vinod and Dr. Kour. Awareness on drug de-addiction was also held along with awareness on educational and skill development schemes of NIOS (National Institute of Open Schools).
Registration was done for dropout children who could not complete their basic education.
Dr. Kour said that their aim was to bring students back to the school and provide them skill trainings to make them financially stable.
She said that a proposal has been sent to the LG to start a Kendriya Vidyalaya in border areas.
Swaran Singh, Rajinder, Manjit Kaur, Asha Devi, many Sarpanches, members of Panchayat and others also attended the programme.
