One more interstate smuggler held in smuggling/firing case of Rangroor

SAMBA, July 23: District Police Samba has arrested one more interstate heroin smuggler involved in smuggling/firing case of Rangoor (Ramgarh).
The accused identified as Neeraj Jaswal alias Romi son of Pawan Singh Jaswal, resident of Amritsar (Punjab) was arrested under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Benam Tosh.
He is the 4th top heroin smuggler arrested in Rangoor smuggling/firing case. Jaswal was working as a guide at the time of midnight firing incident and had fled from the spot on Apache bike taking advantage of darkness.
Earlier on the intervening night of 11 and 12th of June 2023, immediately after the midnight firing incident at Rangoor under the jurisdiction of Police Station Ramgarh in Samba district, alert Samba police had arrested three top heroin smugglers at police naka at Radian, Ramgarh with heroin worth rupees 14 crore approximately, Rs 93200 cash and a pistol/ammunition while they were fleeing from the spot on a local person’s bike leaving behind their Innova car at the scene of crime.
SSP Samba said that Jaswal was arrested by Punjab Police at a naka while he was fleeing from Samba. He said a team of Samba Police deputed to Punjab has taken over custody of Neeraj Jaswal and the accused is being subjected to sustained interrogation.
The District Police Chief said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) comprising of three Gazetted Police officers– Additional SP Surinder Choudhary, Deputy SP Operations Samba Garu Ram, SDPO Vijaypur Rohit Kumar and two Inspectors –SHO Ramgarh Sudesh Kumar and Inspector Sham Lal, is conducting investigation in Rangoor smuggling/firing case. Some more arrests are likely and the case is on the verge of challan, he added.
