Leopard attacks, injures villager; captured

BHADARWAH, July 23: A villager was seriously injured when he was attacked by a leopard at village Kavbati, Kastigarh in District Doda today.
According to police, the victim has been identified as Jaswinder Singh, 26, son of Angrez Singh, resident of Kavbati in Block Kastigarh.
The injured was hospitalized after attack by the beast.
SSP Doda, Abdul Qayoom informed that today morning when the victim Jaswinder was going to forest area near his house, a leopard pounced on him.
Jaswinder raised an alarm after which his family members and villagers ran to him for help and rescued him from the beast.
Singh was immediately rushed the injured to GMC Doda for treatment.
The SSP also informed that the injured was undergoing treatment at GMC Doda and is said to be stable.
“Wild Life Department was informed and requested to capture the animal,” SSP Doda maintained adding: “After hectic efforts, the leopard was captured from Kastigarh area by Wild Life Department team along with cops.”
