JAMMU, July 24: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (ECPFWA) has demanded the Director General of BSF to ensure an assistance of Rs 8000 to the family of every BSF personnel on his/her demise.
Welcoming Director General BSF’s order issued on March 15, 2021 to ensure a moral support in the form of Rs 8000 to the needy family on the demise of BSF personnel, DK Chauhan (general secretary, ECPFWA) said that the order needed some rectification.
Such assistance should be universalized to each and every family on the demise of BSF personnel, Chauhan said in a press conference here today. “We from time to time raised this issue to the higher officials of BSF but found no such response. On the other hand, no such kind of assistance of Rs 8000 was obtained by any family member of a BSF official in the Jammu region till date,” he said.
He said that it is the time to restore the status of BSF for OROP as the BSF personnel are performing their duties for the security of the nation at par with other security forces. He also demanded exemption of GST and functioning of WARB at district level under supervision of registered pensioners associations.
“Presently WARB is formed which is not effective since the services of the WARB are not properly beneficial for pensioners. The duties of the WARB and proposals for pensioners are required to be examined”, he added.
He also demanded martyr status to Central Paramilitary Forces so that all facilities to the martyrs may be provided at par with army and equal incentives for medals also. He also sought restoration of the pension benefits scheme (Old Pension Scheme under CCS pension) Rules 1972 for post 2004 personnel.
Others present in the press conference include president SK Sharma, vice president Harbans Lal, Noor Mohammad, Yash Paul and Hans Raj.
