JAMMU, July 25: The Department of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics, Jaypee University of Information Technology (JUIT) Himachal Pradesh is constantly putting their efforts to place their students in industries and top academic and research institutions.
In this endeavour of the Varsity, B.Tech Biotechnology student of the University Muskaan got highest offer of Rs 8 lakh per annum (LPA) from Rxlogix-BQA, Sweta and Parmita (MSc Microbiology) got placed in Byju’s at Rs 7 lakh and 13 students of Biotechnology and Bioinformatics got an offer of 6 – 6.5 lakh from companies like Zycus, Planet Spark and Nestle India.
Moreover, 14 students of BTech and MTech got a package of 4-6 lakhs while seven students of BTech and MSc Biotechnology are at present doing their advanced training at two US universities.
Vice-Chancellor of JUIT, Prof (Dr) Rajendra Kumar Sharma, congratulated all the faculty members and the selected students. He said JUIT is offering quality education in the domain of Bioinformatics since 2002 and in Biotechnology since 2005. “Several students of the department are settled in India and abroad at various positions which includes academicians, researchers and senior positions in industries,” he added.
