Hardcore criminal detained under PSA

SAMBA, July 25: Under the overall supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police, Samba, Benam Tosh, Samba police today detained under Public Safety Act (PSA), 1978 hardcore criminal “Goru” who was involved in several cases of attempt to murder including Birpur firing case, Arms Act, heroin supplying and was acting in a manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order, in pursuance of detention order issued by District Magistrate (DM) Samba upon the dossier forwarded by SSP Samba.
Hardened criminal, Balwander Singh alias Goru Jatt son of Swarn Singh of Rahya Ranjari district Samba was posing a grave threat to the public peace and tranquility and therefore to prevent him from acting in any manner prejudicial to the maintenance of public order, SSP Samba had prepared a dossier enumerating his criminal activities/involvements and forwarded the same to the District Magistrate, Samba ,Abhishek Sharma who issued detention order.
Goru was also a notorious heroin supplier and used to supply heroin to the youth of Samba district. Moreover, he was one of the top criminals of the Samba district and was posing a threat to the peace loving people of Samba, because of his repeated involvement in murderous attacks, criminal intimidation, wrongful restraints and drug peddling.
The detention order against notorious criminal Goru has been executed by a police team headed by SHO Police Station (PS), Vijaypur Tribhuwan Khajuria under the supervision of SDPO Vijaypur, Rohit Kumar and Additional SP Samba, Surinder Choudhary. The detenue has been lodged in District Jail Kathua.
Senior Superintendent of Police Samba, Benam Tosh said that police is committed to maintain law and order in the society and those who are acting in a manner prejudicial to the public order, peace and tranquility are being dealt with sternly under law.
