Full-fledged Blood Center starts at Lajwanti Hospital

JAMMU, July 25: Lajwanti Hospital in Greater Kailash here has got permission to run full-fledged Blood Center under the name ‘Jammu Blood Center’ for the people of Jammu and around to cater to the patients in need of blood.
This Center is well equipped with the latest medical transfusion technology and has a team of well trained staff.
Anil Padha, former secretary IRCS Jammu Region and founder YBA (Young Blood Association) along with Dr. Navneet Kour, secretary general, ISBTI (Indian Society for Blood Transfusion and Immunohematology) J&K Chapter and president YBA, founder of NGO ‘Support’ visited the newly setup Blood Center and assured all support for saving precious human lives by encouraging 100 per cent voluntary blood donation.
The presentation and introduction of the Blood Bank was given by Dr. Paras Khanna, Dr. Gurpreet Kaur and Dr. Angad along with the technical team.
Jammu Blood Centre will aim 100 per cent voluntary blood donations.
It also boasts state-of-the-art facilities for Blood Grouping, Rh Phenotyping and antibodies screening, ensuring the highest standards of safety and compatibility for blood transfusions.
A handout stated that the Centre’s commitment to 100 per cent Blood Components Therapy will be a testament to its dedication to provide personalized and effective treatment to the suffering people of Jammu and its surroundings.
Jammu Blood Centre also envisions establishing a full-fledged Institute of Transfusion Medicine to provide advanced facilities such as HLA Typing, Platelet Serology, Stem Cells and a Day Care Centre for Blood Transfusion.
