Departments allocated among law officers

JAMMU, July 25: The Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, has allocated departments among the law officers in the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh.
As per an order issued in this context, SS Nanda, Senior Additional Advocate General has been allocated Housing & Urban Development Department including Housing Board, Rural Development Board, Jammu Development Authority, Jammu Municipal Corporation, and All Public Interest Litigations, Monika Kohli, Senior Additional Advocate General, has been allocated Home Department, Revenue Department, Department of Law, Justice, and Parliamentary Affairs, J&K Crime Branch, Anti-Corruption Bureau, and NIA Cases/all Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act appeals, Ramesh Arora, Additional Advocate General, has been allocated Social Welfare Department, J&K Sports Council, Higher Education Department, and Election Department, Ravinder Gupta, Additional Advocate General, has been allocated Public Works (R&B) Department, PDD, JKPDC, J&KPCC, and fixate and regulation of fee of private schools.
The order further said that Amit Gupta, Additional Advocate General, has been allocated Health Department, Forest, Ecology and Environment Department, Jal Shakti Department, and all other specially assigned class of cases including arbitration matters assigned by Advocate General, Raman Sharma, Additional Advocate General, has been allocated Horticulture Department, Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation, and Reconstruction Department, Animal/Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries Department, and School Education Department, District Kishtwar, KDS Kotwal, Deputy Advocate General, has been allocated Cooperative Department, Estates Department, Tourism Department, J&K Tourism Development Corporation, Skill Development Department, and School Education Department, District Ramban. He shall also assist the Advocate General in cases involving Finance Department, Financial Corporation, and all such matters specially assigned by Advocate General.
Deputy Advocate General Dewakar Sharma has been allocated Transport Department, J&K Road Transport Corporation, Cable Car Corporation, Floriculture including Gardens and Parks, and Labour and Employment Department, Pawan Dev Singh Deputy Advocate General, has been allocated Skill Development Department, Civil Aviation Department, Khadi and Village Industries Board, and School Education Department (Udhampur and Reasi Districts), Sunil Malhotra, Government Advocate, has been allocated Information Technology Department, Agriculture Production and Farmers Welfare Department, and Youth Services and Sports Department, Bhanu Jasrotia, Government Advocate, has been allocated Department of Culture, J&K Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Hajj and Auqaf, and School Education Department, District Samba and Poonch.
Meanwhile, Government Advocate, Adarsh Bhagat, has been allocated J&K Building and other Construction Welfare Board, J&K Agro Industries Limited, Resident Commissioner, New Delhi, and School Education Department, Rajouri, Eishaan Dadhichi, Government Advocate, has been allocated Department of Tribal Affairs, Science and Technology, Hospitality and Protocol, and School Education Department, Doda, Sumeet Bhatia, Government Advocate, has been allocated Jammu and Kashmir Legal Services Authority, ARI & Trainings Department, JK BOPEE, Planning Development and Monitoring Board, Ranbir Government Press, and School Education Department, District Kathua, and Mohammad Irfan Inqlabi, Government Advocate, has been allocated Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs, Information Department, and J&K Institute of Management, Public Administration, and Rural Development (IMPARD).
The order further said that Industries & Commerce Department, Geology & Mining Department, SIDCO, SICOP, Finance Department, including Financial Corporation and any other department/corporation that has not been assigned to any law officer shall remain with the Advocate General.
Sumeet Bhatia, Government Advocate, shall assist the Advocate General in all arbitration matters, said the order.
It added that the allocation is subject to the satisfactory performance of the law officers which shall be reviewed periodically.
