JAMMU, Dec 18: M.C Khalsa College of Education organized a 5-Day workshop for preparing “Low Cost Teaching AIDS”.
On the occasion, students were divided into different groups according to the teaching subjects i.e. Languages, Maths, Science and Social Studies.
Subject teachers provided the students their expert guidance for preparing the teaching aids of different types i.e. Models, Charts, Flash Cards as per the requisites of teaching various types of topics related to different teaching subjects.
They were inspired and guided by the subject teachers laying stress on using low cost material to facilitate teaching in classroom and thus making teaching learning process interesting, understandable, easy and for retention of the contents for longer period. Not only this the supporting material helped to achieve expected behavioral outcomes also.
Dr (Mrs) Madhu Singh Principal of the college monitored the activities of the workshop continuously by interacting with subject teachers & students who were completely involved in their job applying their head, heart and hand and imagination in creating the desired material in the form of various types of Charts, Maps, Glazed paper figures, working and static models, live specimens, puppets, dioramas & slides to be used on projects & Power Point presentations.
This workshop with beaming faces concluded with the valedictory Address today Prof. Lokesh Verma Ex Dean & Prof. of Education Deptt., Jammu University was chief guest on this occasion. Speaking on this occasion the Chief Guest congratulated the whole hearted efforts, experienced guidance, the teachers put in for encouraging the students to prepare the material by using the waste material under the able guidance and expertise of the Principal.
Mrs Inderjeet Kour, Sr. Lecturer extended a vote of thanks by thanking Chief Guest for gracing the occasion and also encouraging the teachers and the students.
