JAMMU, July 26: The Jammu Kashmir Reserved Categories Empowerment Alliance (JKRCEA), has demanded that ruling Government at the Centre and JKUT Administration must come out with a white paper on the development of SCs, STs and OBCs, post abrogation of article 370 in the Jammu and Kashmir.
In a joint press conference held here today senior JKRCEA members Prof G L Thappa, Mohinder Bhagat and others expressed serious concern over the neglect of the SCs, STs and the OBCs in the Jammu and Kashmir after abrogation of Article 370. They said tall claims were made by the top BJP leaders on the development and welfare of these communities with the abrogation of Article 370 and implementation of Central laws in the J&K but these claimed proved hollow and false. The members of these communities were just befooled.
They demanded that ruling BJP at the Centre must issue a white paper with regard to the development and welfare of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes in the Jammu and Kashmir. They regretted that Mandal Commission Report was not implemented in the Jammu and Kashmir due to the reasons best known to the people at the helm of affairs. They also criticized the role of Backward Commission constituted by the Government for J&K and claimed that no member of the OBC category was inducted in the Commission.
While expressing serious concern over the incidents of violence in Manipur, Members of the Empowerment Alliance urged the Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah to take all the necessary measures to restore normalcy in the troubled state.
