Srinagar, July 26: The Central University Kashmir (CUK) today commemorated the three-year completion of the National Education Policy (NEP)-2020.
During the event held on the occasion, it was emphasized that successful implementation of NEP requires cohesive collaboration among all stakeholders, as the policy is a visionary step towards revamping the education system in the country.
The event, called ‘Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Samagam,’-which serves as a platform to reflect on the progress made so far and the road ahead in realizing the objectives of NEP-2020-saw the participation of several officials of the varsity including Prof. A Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor of CUK who briefed the media on the occasion.
Addressing the media person, Prof. Nath shed light on the university’s efforts to implement the NEP-2020 in its true spirit, noting that the primary goal of this policy is to equip students with skills that are “not only relevant to the job market but also empower them for vertical and horizontal mobility both within the country and globally.”
“NEP-2020 is fundamentally focused on catering to the interests and abilities of learners, fostering leadership, and contributing to the development of economies and societies. It is our endeavour to transform human potential into national empowerment,” he emphasized.
He further elaborated on CUK’s commitment to initiating academic and administrative reforms aimed at unlocking the full potential of each learner. “This involves ensuring affordability, equitable access, and maintaining high standards of quality and accountability, he added.”
He added that the NEP-2020 is a visionary and ambitious step towards revamping India’s education system to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving global landscape. “Its ultimate goal is to nurture a competent, skilled, and knowledgeable citizenry capable of making valuable contributions to society and the economy.”
Highlighting the need for collective efforts, Prof. Nath emphasized, “The successful implementation of NEP-2020 requires cohesive collaboration from the central and state governments, educational institutions, teachers, parents, and all other stakeholders involved in the education ecosystem.”
