Three held as police work out two theft cases

JAMMU, July 26: With the arrest of three individuals, Police in Gandhi Nagar area here claimed to have solved two different theft cases registered in their jurisdiction.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu by one Sunil Sharma son of Bihari Lal of Rampura, Gandhi Nagar Jammu, stating therein that someone stolen his auto rickshaw which was parked outside his residence at Rampura.
On this, a case FIR number 182/2023 under sections 379 IPC was registered at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu and investigation started.
During search, the special police teams of Gandhi Nagar Police Station led by SDPO South Sachit Sharma assisted by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma and PSI Basharat Hussain, rounded up the suspected person Vikas Kumar of Rampura, Gandhi Nagar, he said.
During sustained questioning, the police spokesperson said that accused confessed to his involvement in the crime and on his disclosure, the stolen rickshaw was recovered.
Another complaint was lodged by one Nitu Kumar at Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu stating theft in her house.
On this, a case FIR number 173/2023 under sections 457/380 of the IPC was registered at Gandhi Nagar Police Station and investigation taken up.
Followed by this, the special police teams of Police Station Gandhi Nagar Jammu led by SHO Gandhi Nagar Inspector Pankaj Sharma assisted by PSI Majiod rounded up two suspects identified as Rohit Sharma of Chowki Chora and Arun @Ali of Valmiki Colony Jammu.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, two stolen LCDs, bathroom fittings, brass utensils, and one silver anklet was recovered.
Further investigations in both the cases are on.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid.
