RAMBAN, July 26: Police here today foiled a narcotic smuggling bid at Sangaldan and arrested a smuggler with Charas.
On routine checking duty, cops from Police Post Sangaldan led by Incharge Police Post Sangaldan, PSI Arun Jasrotia intercepted a car bearing registration number JK19A-3961 coming from Sangaldan and moving towards Gool.
During checking of the vehicle, 1.5 kg Charas like substance from was recovered. The car was driven by one Ashiq Hussain, son of Mohd Azgar Mir, resident of Salbala Gool.
The narcotic smuggler was arrested on the spot and contraband seized.
In this regard, a case in FIR No. 88/2023 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Gool and investigation started.
The arrest and recovery was made by cops of Police Post Sangaldan under the command of PSI Arun Jasrotia and under close supervision SHO Gool, Inspector Nazir Ahmed and SDPO Gool, Bihar Ranjan and under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Mohita Sharma.
