Cardamom futures remain weak on profit-bookings

NEW DELHI, Dec 19: Cardamom remained weak for the second straight day and prices shed 0.95 per cent to Rs 706.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booking profits, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market against stocks position.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in January declined by Rs 6.80, or 0.95 per cent, to Rs 706.60 per kg in business turnover of 170 lots.
Likewise, the spice for delivery in February traded lower by Rs 6, or 0.78 per cent, to Rs 765.40 per kg in 45 lots.
Market analysts said besides profit-bookings by speculators, sluggish demand in the spot market against adequate stocks position mainly kept pressure on cardamom prices at futures trade. (AGENCIES)
