People of India should support Tibetans’ struggle for liberation: Indresh

‘China needs to give up its expansionist policy’

JAMMU, July 27: Expressing his solidarity with people of Tibet, RSS senior leader, its National Executive Member and patron, Bharat Tibet Sahyog Manch (BTSM),Indresh Kumar today said the people of India should socially, morally and politically support the Tibetans’ struggle for the liberation of their land which is under forcible occupation of China.
Addressing a seminar organised by BTSM at University of Jammu here this evening, Indresh Kumar justified the struggle of people of Tibet and fully endorsed Tibet’s liberation from the Chinese occupation.
“We must also support and hold prayers for freedom of Tibet and liberation of Kailash -Mansarovar,” he added.
Earlier talking to reporters on the sidelines of the seminar, Indresh Kumar made a scathing attack on China and said that Tibet was never part of that country. Besides, Himalaya and Kailash -Mansarovar were also never part of China, he added.
The RSS senior leader said that Chinese territory is up to wall of China only and other places have been forcibly occupied by it. “The Tibet as well as Kailash -Mansarovar are outside the wall of China so it is necessary that Chinese influence should not be on Himalayas.
He said Kailash -Mansarovar belonged to India and it should be in India. He advised China to give up its expansionist attitude and respect the borders of every country.
Indresh Kumar also accused China for COVID pandemic and said it shook entire world as 80 lakh people across the globe lost their lives. He said China is worst enemy of humanity while India always respected human values.
The RSS senior leader made it clear that Tibetans should get their right and Himalaya should be freed from Chinese control that can ensure peace in this regions as well as world.
In response to a question about recent decry by Pakistan on Ahmadiyya Muslims, he said it is internal matter of Pakistan but there are some sub sects in Islam which are declared `Kafir’ (non Muslims) but in India there are 72 Muslim sects which are being treated equally. There is no ‘Kafir’ (non Muslim) in India, he added.
He laid emphasis on protecting the natural beauty of the Himalayas and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Tibet which were crucial for the well-being of planet Earth and its inhabitants. “The Himalayan region, home to majestic mountains, diverse ecosystems, and the ancient traditions of Tibet, is under threat from various factors. It is our collective responsibility to take action and ensure the conservation of this unique and valuable region. Together, we can make a difference and secure a sustainable future for the Himalayas and Tibet,” he added.
In response to another question on recent violence in Manipur, Indresh Kumar said that the issue should not be politicised and both ruling parties and oppositions should work for restoration of peace. He said the opposition is doing totally against it which is unfortunate.
In his keynote address at the Seminar, Indresh Kumar said, “Universal Law is not made by the human beings. It is made by the Almighty who is one but is called by different names depending upon the religion and faith. But everyone acknowledges the existence of God and seeks his blessings.”
“People everyone on Earth can live together peacefully, if they want. This can be possible by ignoring the differences. We also propagate the philosophy of mutual co-existence and brotherhood but there are some countries which spread hatred and enmity. China is one such country which has nothing to do with humanity. It keeps on giving tension to many countries of the world in some form or the other. Nothing can be expected of humanity from China.
The Seminar was organised by BTSM in collaboration with Department of Buddhist Studies, University of Jammu on the theme “Save Himalaya Save Tibet”.
Indresh Kumar was the main speaker whereas Rajinder Sharma, Mayor Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) was the chief guest on the occasion. Among the guests of honour were Shakti Pathak-, DIG Jammu- Samba- Kathua Range and Dr. Vikrant Sharma, Prant Karyawah J&K.
The programme started with the lighting of lamp by the dignitaries which was followed by “BudhVandana”. The welcome address was read by Dr Vivek Sharma, president BTSM.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, HoD Buddhist Studies, formally made the welcome address and presented a memento to Dr Indresh Kumar. All other invited dignitaries were also felicitated on the occasion.
Dr Vivek Sharma, president BTSM also threw light on the significance and relevance of theme chosen for the seminar. He said, “Protecting the natural beauty of the Himalayas and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Tibet are crucial for the well-being of our planet and its inhabitants.”
Other speakers also laid emphasis on environmental significance of Himalayas and called for its preservation. They also called for preserving the rich cultural traditions, including Buddhism, art, and literature of Tibet. They also took a pledge for saving Himalaya, saving Tibet, and secure a sustainable future for all.
Later, Dr Rajesh Sharma presented the vote of thanks while Niharika and Dr Paramjeet Kour coordinated the function.
