JAMMU, Dec 19: Chairman, Legislative Council, Amrit Malhotra today disbursed pension cheques among 25 beneficiaries of Jammu city under the old age and widow pension scheme. The pension schemes are being run by the Social Welfare Department.
Mr Malhotra while talking to beneficiaries said that Government has launched several welfare schemes to improve the socio economic status of the weaker sections of the society.
The Chairman asked officers of Social Welfare Department to expand the ambit of their activities and bring more deserving people under the welfare schemes.
Additional Secretary, LC, Mohammad Maqbool Bhat, District Social Welfare Officers, Jammu and other officers were present on the occasion.
