DC reviews functioning of coaching centres

SRINAGAR, Dec 19: In order to address the issues related to functioning of various coaching centres, a meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Srinagar, Farooq Ahmad Shah.
Sr. Superintendant of Police Srinagar, Additional Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Assistant Commissioner (Nazool) Superintendant of Police Traffic City, S. P. South Srinagar, Joint Director Education Kashmir Directorate of Education, Chief Education Officer Srinagar, and Heads of Different Coaching Centres also participated.
After threadbare discussion several decisions were taken which include segregation, of sexes, details of the faculty, regulation of rolls, registration of coaching centres, provisions of separate washroom facilities, timing of tuition from 8.00 am to 1.00 pm in respect of girls and 2.00 pm to 5.00 pm in respect of boys, details of fee charged from each student and the criteria adopted for the purpose, adequate heating arrangements to be put in place in the coaching centres, marking of attendance of students, parent teacher meets on fortnightly basis to evaluate the progress of the students.
Also a committee headed by Joint Director Education Kashmir will be constituted to scrutinize the documents of all coaching centres and will issue necessary registration certificate in respect of such coaching centres who fulfill the requisite criteria.
