SRINAGAR, Dec 19: A 85-year-old Abdul Rahim Sheikh son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh of Mirwani, Kulgam was found dead near a stream in Damhal Hanjipora, Kulgam today.
A police spokesman said Sheikh had left from his home on Tuesday to see his daughter who is married at village Chogalpora. He claimed the man had apparently died after falling into a nallah.
Police has initiated an inquest proceeding under section 174 CrP C to ascertain the cause of his death, he said.
