Samba Police rescues 2 bovine animals

Samba, Dec 19: In continuing its drive against illegal smuggling of bovine animals, Police team headed by Inspector Anu Kumar, SHO P/S Ghagwal under the direct supervision of Anil Magotra, SP Samba and Munish Anand, DySP HQ Samba, during Naka Checking at Sandbari Ghagwal, intercepted a TATA Mobile bearing Registration No. JK02AA-7540 loaded with 02 bovine animals which were being smuggled from Punjab.
The vehicle was seized and accused Mohd Iqbal S/o Noor Mahi R/o Madhera, Tehsil and District Samba alongwith driver of the vehicle namely Mohd Hussain S/o Lal Hussain R/o Manohar Gopala, Samba were arrested. A Case FIR No. 102/2013 u/s 188 RPC, 2/3 Cruelty towards Animals Act was registered at P/S Ghagwal and investigation started. Police said Mohd Iqbal is a habitual bovine Smuggler and was found involved in number of animal theft cases. He was also got detained under PSA one year back from District Magistrate, Samba for a maximum period to prevent him from indulging in prejudicial criminal activities.
