JAMMU, Dec 19: Akhnoor police today arrested a bootlegger and recovered large quantity of illicit liquor from his possession.
A police spokesman said that, on specific inputs, police party from Akhnoor police station laid a naka at Fawara Chowk and intercepted a pedestrian.
During his search, police recovered 43 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested the bootlegger, who has been identified as Sham Lal, son of Garu Ram of Sungal.
A case under FIR number 275/13 under Section 48 Excise Act has been registered at police station Akhnoor and investigation started.
