JAMMU, July 30: Chairperson, J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, today initiated various projects during her visit to the Peer Panchal region.
A statement said that she laid the foundation stone for a new Masjid to be constructed at Panj Peer in Rajouri, emphasizing her commitment to enhancing the facilities at all shrines as part of the ongoing phase two of the Waqf Board redevelopment plan for Jammu & Kashmir.
Dr Andrabi also inspected the newly furnished Eidgah Jamia Masjid in Rajouri and dedicated the upgraded and renovated sanitary complex for public use at the campus. She inaugurated the sanitary complex at Bhatian Sharief in Rajouri, further contributing to the development of the region.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Andrabi expressed her happiness to be back in Rajouri and fulfill the promises made during her previous visit.
She commended the transformation of J&K Waqf Board, emphasizing its newfound vibrancy after overcoming past challenges.
In her efforts to address public issues promptly, Dr Andrabi also chaired a meeting with the District Administration in Rajouri, appreciating their responsiveness to the grievances of the public.
During her visit, Dr Andrabi received warm welcome and appreciation from representatives of the Pahari community and religious leaders for her dedication and the decision of the BJP Government to include the community in the ST list after decades of struggle. She also praised Prime Minister Modi’s commitment to inclusive growth in India.
In addition, Dr Andrabi met with a delegation of BJP leaders, engaging in an interactive session to strengthen the BJP’s cadre base in Rajouri.
Furthermore, the Ulema of the District met with Dr Andrabi and applauded her efforts in revitalizing the Waqf Board. Discussions were held regarding the organization of mega Sufi Conferences in the Pir Panchal Range, acknowledging the crucial role of religious scholars in preserving the region’s spiritual and inclusive traditions amidst challenging times of radicalization and violence in the name of faith.
