Education Amendment Act 2013

Sir,
Recently the State Govt framed an apex body of eminent educationists under the guidance of former DSE and D.C. Budgam, Mohd Rafi. It is welcome step and the dream of qualitative and compulsory education shall be provided to school children upto 8th Class under RTE Act. This Act delves deep into the various aspects of Education Policy with a focus to lure more and more children to schools, especially physically and mentally challenged children, children of labour class, scavangers and the girl child to achieve  zero percent drop and target. The Act has put forth certain fruitful suggestions, regarding the education of school children and stress has been laid upon providing education for physical, intellectual, emotional and moral growth and drawing out the best among children for the development of their all round personality.
It is further suggested that children must be encouraged to take up mini projects, while observing  the flora and fauna around them and the needs of that rural belt. The teachers must be well equipped to imbibe the scientific temper in them and the  idea of co-operative living. The young children do not get motivated without activity oriented education. A resourceful teacher must play the role of a juggler to make lessons interesting through mathematical puzzles, language games, drawings map reading, to make teaching a fun rather than a cumbersome activity.
Further, the panel is considering about the language  formula to be adopted, because a foreign language poses problems for under privileged children. The children should be given option in choosing a foreign language or local language upto 5th Grade.
Yours etc….
