Gandhiji’s messages hold great importance in tense atmosphere of country: Gehlot

JAIPUR, Aug 1: Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot today said that the young generation should connect with the thoughts of Mahatama Gandhi which has great significance in the prevailing tense atmosphere across the world.
“Every person must study Gandhiji’s biography ‘Experiments of Truth’. It is only because of the spirit of Gandhiji which is enshrined in the Indian Constitution that India is still united and strong,” Ashok Gehlot said while addressing a training session on the Gandhian philosophy organized by the State Government’s Peace and Non-violence Department at the Birla Auditorium, through video conference.
Gehlot said that for the first time in the country, the Department of Peace and Non-Violence was set up in Rajasthan to take the messages of Mahatma Gandhi to every household. He said the Department is making the youth aware of Gandhiji’s principles by running Gandhi philosophy training and awareness campaign, and these trainees will help in the development of Rajasthan. The result of these campaigns is that today the youth has moved forward on the path shown by Gandhiji.
The CM said that mutual love, harmony and brotherhood can be maintained in the society only through peace and non-violence. This is also the basic foundation of our culture. “Moving forward on this path, we have to strengthen democracy and play an important role in the progress of the country,” he added.
Rajasthan Assembly Speaker Dr CP Joshi, Director of Peace and Non-violence Directorate Manish Sharma, Director of Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Governance and Social Sciences Prof BM Sharma, President of Gandhi Peace Foundation Kumar Prashant, Gandhian Manoj Thakre, Secretary of the Department Naresh Kumar Thakral along with trainees from Udaipur, Bharatpur, Bikaner and Kota divisions were present.
Training will be given to the trainees of Jodhpur, Jaipur and Ajmer divisions on Wednesday in the auditorium.
